That may be the best way to describe Ignition Theatre’s 2010/11 season. This was not by design,
but rather, I think both myself and our audiences are ready to explore plays with just as exciting themes and characters, but are ready to have more fun doing it.

To label this season as a comedic one would be, I think, doing it a great disservice. Both because I think the term comedy is too broad and because the stereotype of comedy leads people to believe
that it cannot be as compelling as those plays with a more “dramatic” tone.

I assure you, this season’s Signature Series, is just as compelling and thought provoking as it has
ever been. I am certain that your experiences with these plays will be every bit as entertaining as it has been in the past and will leave you wanting more of what Ignition Theatre has to offer.

Additionally, I am beyond thrilled to introduce our “Live From New York” series, which will
welcome stars of the New York stage to our home at The Matchbox.

And of course, our extremely popular Holiday Celebration Series returns with our live-radio
production of It’s a Wonderful Life.

It has been a thrill and an absolute pleasure to bring Central Alberta audiences dynamic and rewarding live theatre experiences and we have no intention of slowing down.

Welcome to the Ignition Theatre 2010/11 season.
